An Aspiring Aromatherapist

After two years of intentional research, I finally settled on an Aromatherapy Certification Program.  As of last week, I am officially a student of The School for Aromatic Studies.  Yay!!

I've been an aromatherapy enthusiast basically since I was first introduced to essential oils in May 2014.  My affinity for these amazing fragrant liquids has only intensified over the years.  My collection of little amber bottles has steadily grown, and I've begun to acquire a myriad of carrier oils and hydrosols.  Adding these aromatic plant materials to my daily life has been transformational.  I never anticipated the wide array of physical, mental and emotional benefits that would follow.  Essential oils / carrier oils / hydrosols and the like have enabled me to detoxify my home, provide natural first aid for my kiddos, relieve my hubby's back pain, calm my frazzled Mommy-mind, improve the appearance of my 40-something skin...and so much more.  Aromatherapy has been a blessing, and for me, there's no going back.

The purpose of this blog is two-fold. As I gain fascinating and helpful insights during the course of my studies, I want to share those insights with others. I also feel called to be a light for Christ in a field that can sometimes draw people into mysticism and new age thinking. With God's help, hopefully I can accomplish both goals.

{ As an aside-- I am SO excited to dive into the essential oil chemistry and medical research elements of the course.  During my personal studies, I've had a taste of the science of aromatherapy, and it is fascinating!  My high school Chemistry teacher would be proud and probably surprised, as earning a 'B' in that class had been a struggle for me.  I'm pretty shocked myself.  I hope I love aroma chem! }

In the mean time...I study, I learn, I write.  And because anything worth doing is worth doing with gusto, I am diving in with enthusiasm...a very enthusiastic student of aromatherapy.  Hmmm...I think I'll call myself the AromaThusiast!

So come along if you like as I study, learn and share.  We can explore together, this wonderful world of Aromatherapy!
